Preserving Baltimore’s Koreatown started when Baltimore based artist Phaan Howng and graphic designer Hayelin Choi noticed how evidence of Baltimore's once-thriving “Koreatown” was quickly fading from view. Howng and Choi voluntarily took action by continuing the initiative Asian Arts & Culture Center at Towson University and Central Baltimore Partnership’s started in 2024 to install historic markers in Koreatown.
